Acer has released a new smartphone model in the UK mobile phone markets in collaboration with Ferrari. This is an ongoing effort of the Acer to consolidate its position in the mobile phone markets of the UK. The newest phones entering the markets will be of previously released model, Liquid and it will be set for sale with preloaded content. The latest released phone will be marketed with a brand name of Ferrari and phone is expected to have a limited range of 200,000 copies. 

 

 

Acer, the second largest worldwide PC manufacturer, has initiated its business into the smartphone industry previous year, with a prime objective of capturing a market share of 6% -7% in coming three to five years. Wood said, “Acer had a devastating effect on the notebook market and has been the thorn in Dell and HP’s side. Its low cost, low margin approach accelerated commodity in the notebook market and mobile phone makers are watching its entry into the segment closely” He further added that phone manufacturers are waiting for them to enter the domain with good discounts and low margin policy as implemented for Acer notebook.
